Darkfield Ring Lights - DFRL Series
Inside Diameters 3", 4" and 5". Visible spectrum, UV and IR.
Reflected and Transmitted Darkfield Illumination.
|

Darkfield Ring Lights Features:
High intensity, uniform, diffuse, reflected and transmitted darkfield illumination in visible spectrum, UV and IR. Extremely low heat dissipation.
Fully sealed led lights. All darkfield ring lights have embedded electronics (no external controller required).
Light intensity adjustable from 0 to max. 24 volt models come with "piggy tail" cable with strain relief or with sealed connector and
detachable cordset. 12 volt models come with "banana plug" socket and detachable 110VAC to 12VDC converter. Darkfield ring lights may
be mounted utilizing removable 1/4-20 threaded stud, four 8-32 threaded through-holes or four 2-56 threaded holes.
Darkfield Ring Lights Applications: Darkfield illumination enhances indented or embossed features, edges, scratches, and creates contrast
between specular and diffuse surfaces. It is used in visual inspection and machine vision for surface inspection, surface defects detection,
optical character recognition (OCR), laser etched or engraved symbols inspection, printed circuit board inspection, print quality verification
(PQV), edge detection and dimensioning, inspecting transparent (empty or filled) containers.

Darkfield Ring Lights Illumination Structure:
In darkfield illumination, led light rays are almost perpendicular to the optical axis of the camera. In reflected darkfield illumination,
when the surface is uniform and perfectly flat, there is nothing to diffract, refract or reflect the light toward the camera, so the field of view
appears dark. Any imperfection, defect or aberration of this otherwise flat and smooth surface will reflect light toward the camera
and form a brighter image superimposed onto a dark background. Reflected darkfield illumination enhances scratches, indented or embossed
features on flat surfaces, and creates contrast between specular and diffuse surfaces. In transmitted darkfield illumination in microscope,
macro photography, machine vision or inspection applications, where inspected medium is transparent or semi-transparent, any object in this medium,
or part of the medium with slightly different optical properties will diffract, refract or reflect some light toward the camera and form a brighter
or darker image superimposed onto a uniform background.
