Led Lights in Machine Vision, Inspection, Microscope and Macro Photography:Miniature Ring Lights - Provide diffuse low and mid angle brightfield, and diffuse darkfield illumination for imaging or inspecting laser-etched characters and symbols, semiconductor wafers, contaminations and defects on highly reflective surfaces. Inside diameters, 33 mm and 37 mm, are compatible with most of the Mitutoyo, Thales-Optem, Navitar and Nikon, infinity corrected, high magnification microscope and video microscope objectives. MDRL Series rings project highly diffused beam of light, forming large, very uniform field of view. MRL Series rings project highly collimated beam of light, forming super high intensity spot at the center. Light intensity and field of view, are dependent on the working distance.Line Scan and Area Scan Lights - Line lights feature highly collimated beam of light, and were mainly intended for line scan camera applications, but since we use four different types of lenses and four different internal diffusers, we can configure the optical part of the line light to deliver almost any width of the light beam at the specified working distance, making it suitable for illuminating larger areas in machine vision and inspection applications. Thanks to the internal diffuser, the led line light produces extremely uniform light, but the front lens makes the light very directional. This feature is useful in visual inspection or imaging of highly reflective surfaces, or non-glossy (diffuse) surfaces covered or wrapped in transparent foil. To avoid the glare from the reflective surface (specular reflection), position the line light at an angle to the target so the light reflected due to the specular reflections is reflected away from the camera or the observer. Machine vision and inspection applications include line scan, area scan and web inspection, label placement inspection, barcodes, printed circuit board inspection, surface defects detection, optical character recognition, print quality verification, laser etched symbols recognition and more. Since our led line lights are fully sealed and washable, they are suitable for semiconductor clean room, pharmaceutical and food processing applications. Diffuse On Axis (Coaxial) Led Lights - Diffuse coaxial led lights provide uniform, shadow-free, on-axis illumination for inspection of shiny (specular) surfaces. Coaxial illumination enhances scraches and indented or embossed features and creates contrast between specular and diffuse surfaces. In machine vision and inspection applications dealing with clear overcoats and reflective wrappings, diffuse on axis illumination minimizes reflections (glare). We offer Coaxial Lights in four sizes with 25x25, 50x50, 75x75 and 100x100 mm field of view. Sealed top and bottom windows with antireflective coating make our coaxial led lights suitable for semiconductor and other clean room applications. We offer diffuse on axis lights with standard and high current (high power) leds. Diffuse Dome Lights - Diffuse dome led light is an integrating light source. The inner surface of the dome has so much microscopic roughness that led light rays are reflected (scattered) in all possible directions, producing illumination similar to the overcast day light. Specular reflections are greatly reduced and contrast is created between specular and diffuse surfaces. Shadows cast by 3-dimensional features are either reduced or eliminated. We offer one size dome with top openings from 0.75" to 2.00" and custom top inserts, shaped to either block or redirect the zeroeth order (direct) led light rays away from the camera, so the relatively compact dome can be used with large diameter lenses. Plugging the top opening with a reflective insert transforms the dome into a high intensity diffuse spot light or backlight, with 80 mm field of view and light uniformity suitable for most demanding machine vision, inspection or macro photography applications. Lensed Led Gooseneck Lights - Feature highly collimated beam of light for brightfield, darkfield and oblique illumination in compound and stereo microscope applications. Lensed led gooseneck lights are suitable for bioscience, medical, forensic, as well as metalography applications. Transparent, semi-transparent or nearly colorless specimens are almost invisible when examined under transmitted brightfield illumination. Transmitted oblique illumination reveals transitions in refractive index or other optical path differences within the specimen which allows to observe the morfology and internal structure of the specimen. Reflected oblique and darkfield illumination is usefull for examination of glasses, ceramics, metals, polymers and other opaque specimens. Parts of the specimen may have different spectral reflectance, spectral transmitance and diffusion ratio. Illumination with specific wavelength may reveal, or enhance, some features of the specimen not visible, or not easily observed, under the white light from the built-in illuminator. As a machine vision or visual inspection light, lensed led gooseneck light is used to illuminate small objects and details of larger, three dimensional objects, to emphasize edges, surface texture or to remove shadows. Broad Area Linear Array Lights - Provide highly diffuse illumiantion for flat, as well as three dimensional objects, to emphasize surface texture, remove shadows and specular reflections. Two broad area linear led arrays may be positioned in parallel, on both sides of the target, to illuminate even larger areas. They are intended for area scan cameras, web inspection, label placement inspection, printed circuit board inspection, surface defects detection, optical character recognition, laser etched symbols recognition, print quality verification, ball grid arrays inspection, detection of packaging tears, inspection of cylindrical objects, large areas and background illumination, robotic work cell lighting, macro photography. Aside for standard lights, we'll make them in almost any size and shape per customer specifications. High Power Led Linear Array Lights - Similar to the Broad Area Linear Arrays but utilizing high power (high current) leds with individual lenses. High Power Led Broad Area Flood Lights - Similar to the Broad Area Linear Arrays but utilizing high power (high current) wide angle leds. Standard Led Ring Lights - Led ring lights provide soft, even, shadow-free brightfield illumination from all directions for diffuse (non specular) surfaces. Brightfield light from our led ring lights emphasizes texture and other surface features of non-reflective parts. We offer led ring lights with four types of front diffusers, inside diameters from 33 to 161 mm, working distances from 30 to 300 mm, field of views from 15 to 200 mm and incidence angles from near on-axis to more than 45 deg, covering almost all types of lenses in machine vision, inspection, microscope and macro photography applications. Light weight led ring lights may be mounted around the lens with 3-set screws or in front of the lens, utilizing either the filter thread or a bracket. Darkfield Ring Lights - In darkfield illumination, the light rays are almost perpendicular to the optical axis of the camera. In reflected darkfield illumination, when the object is perfectly flat, there is nothing to diffract, refract or reflect the light toward the camera, so the field of view appears dark. Any imperfection, defect or abberation of this otherwise flat and smooth surface will reflect some light toward the camera and form a bright image superimposed onto a dark background. This is why the Darkfield Ring Light is a perfect choice for inspecting quality of flat surfaces. In transmitted darkfield illumination in microscope, machine vision or inspection applications, where the specimen or inspected medium is transparent, any object in this medium with the optical properties even slightly different from those of the medium will diffract, refract or reflect some light toward the camera and form a brighter or darker image superimposed onto a background. We offer darkfield led ring lights in three sizes, with inside diameters 3", 4" and 5". Lensed Led Ring Lights - Intended for macro photography, machine vision and inspection applications where zoom or telecentric lenses with long working distances are used. Each led is equipped with a collimating lens to control the radiation pattern. We use collimating lenses and diffusers in different optical arrangements to maximize the light output at the specified working distance and to match the diameter of the projected light beam to the specified field of view. With inside diameters from 33 to 161 mm, we cover almost all types of lenses in machine vision, inspection, microscopy and macro photography. Light weight led ring lights may be mounted around the lens with 3-set screws or in front of the lens, utilizing either the filter thread or a bracket. Hybrid Diffuse Ring Lights - Provide diffuse low angle brightfield and diffuse darkfield illumination for imaging or inspecting laser-etched characters and symbols, surface contaminations and defects of highly reflective materials. Low angle of incidence and diffuse light makes them a good choice for specular surfaces. Placing a reflective diffuser at the bottom of the illuminator, transforms it into a backlight for imaging or inspecting translucent objects or to silhouett opaque objects for dimensioning or to locate edges. Led Spot Lights - Provide well defined beam of diffuse light. They maximize contrast in a specific direction. On highly reflective surfaces, adjusting the angle of incidence allows to direct specular reflections away from the camera (or the observer). |
